Capitals summon van der Veen for their sales and marketing team

The Cowichan Valley Capitals have hired Craig van der Veen, pictured, as part of their sales and marketing team.

Van der Veen brings more than a decade of experience in advertising, sales, marketing and corporate partnerships to the B.C. Hockey League club.

Andrew Wautier is another recent addition as the team’s new head medical trainer to replace Melissa Skibinski, who went to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. Wautier is a graduate of the University of Manitoba and spent last season with the BCHL’s Vernon Vipers, the Royal Bank Cup national champions.

Speaking of the Vipers, they’ll be taking on the BCHL’s best in a revamped all-star game format Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 in Nanaimo. “We’re looking forward to an intense and highly-skilled contest,’’ BCHL commissioner John Grisdale stated in a news release.
